The present Boutique Hotel Helmhaus in the old town is one of Zurich’s oldest guesthouses: Records of the guesthouse once called ‘Hie zum Rosslyn’ go back as far as 1356 AD.
Part of its success now and then is its prominent location. In the old days it was the busy shipping traffic that brought a crowd of tradesmen and pilgrims to its doors, today it’s the subdivision by the city’s blue tramways and the closeness to the city, the river Limmat and the lake that attracts business and leisure travellers alike.
